Who am I ?

My name is Natacha, and my multicultural upbringing between France and Brazil has profoundly influenced my artistic journey. Born in Brazil and raised in Paris during my early childhood, I was immersed in a world of visual arts from a young age, thanks to my father’s nurturing of my interests. Privileged with opportunities to attend art classes at the Louvre and receive private drawing lessons, I developed a keen eye for aesthetics and critical thinking.

Accompanied by my father, I explored countless museums and indulged in cinematic experiences, enriching my understanding of artistic expression on a global scale. This early exposure laid the foundation for my lifelong passion for creativity and innovation.

Upon relocating to Montreal to pursue higher education at McGill University, I delved into the sociology of media, art history, and philosophy. It was during this time that I discovered my deep-seated love for tattooing, igniting a flame within me that I knew I had to follow.

Balancing my academic pursuits with my newfound passion, I dedicated weekends to honing my skills in tattooing. This required resilience and dedication, but the fusion of academia and artistry only strengthened my commitment to both fields.

Now, as I approach graduation, I am poised to embark on a full-time journey into the world of tattooing. Armed with a rich tapestry of experiences, from academic inquiry to hands-on artistic practice, I am eager to carve out my niche in the vibrant tapestry of the tattooing community.

With each stroke of ink, I seek to weave narratives and evoke emotions, leaving an indelible mark on those who entrust their stories to me. My journey is one of cultural fusion, academic exploration, and artistic expression, and I am excited to see where it leads me next

Experiences & skills

My tattooing journey commenced approximately three years ago, within the intimate confines of my own room. In May 2022, I took a pivotal step forward by moving into my current apartment, where I am fortunate to have an entire floor dedicated to my tattoo studio. Over the course of the following two years, I immersed myself in the process of self-organization and financial management, laying the groundwork for my professional endeavors.

By the summer of 2023, after a year of personal and artistic growth, I felt ready to expand my horizons and collaborate with other tattoo artists. Applying for guest spots at three distinct locations—Paris, Bournemouth (UK), and Toronto—proved to be transformative experiences. These opportunities provided invaluable lessons in studio organization and the intricacies of operating within the microcosm of an independent studio setting.

My journey across Europe during this period also brought me face-to-face with seasoned tattoo artists, sparking a realization of the paramount importance of hygiene within the industry. This revelation led me to undertake a comprehensive Bloodborne Pathogen and Infection Prevention course, fundamentally altering my approach to cleanliness and safety protocols. Through this course, I gained a profound understanding of the meticulous attention to cleanliness required in my practice.

Throughout these three years, I’ve embraced diverse tattooing environments, including a rave and a convention. As someone who thrives on control and familiarity, these experiences pushed me beyond my comfort zone, fostering a newfound trust in my adaptability and resilience amidst distractions and fast-paced settings.

As I continue to evolve as a tattoo artist, each experience—be it in the solitude of my studio, the collaborative atmosphere of guest spots, or the dynamic environments of raves and conventions—shapes my artistic vision and strengthens my commitment to delivering exceptional work, anchored in professionalism and hygiene

Style & influences

My tattoo style is a fusion of eclectic influences spanning various art movements and time periods, with a predominant touch of gothic aesthetics. Drawing inspiration from the Baroque, Insular, Celtic, Pre-Raphaelite, and 80’s pulp fiction movements, my work embodies a rich tapestry of cultural and historical references.

What sets my style apart is its seamless blend of seemingly disparate elements into a cohesive visual narrative. From religious iconography to themes of sapphic vampirism, body horror, Victorian jewelry, and intricate ornamentation, my designs traverse diverse realms of imagination, evoking a sense of mystery and allure.

Technically, I employ a meticulous approach, utilizing a tight 03 liner for precise outlining, while incorporating stipple shading and dot work to imbue my tattoos with a sensual and delicate allure. This technique enhances the depth and texture of my designs, creating a mesmerizing visual experience for the viewer.

In essence, my style is characterized by its ability to evoke a sense of dark romance and intrigue, drawing viewers into a world where beauty and the macabre intertwine in captivating harmony.
